The way I see things.

I wish you could be me,

Just for a day.

To see you how I see you.

The way your mouth curls at the sides when you smile,

The way your teeth show just below your top lip.

Your hair painted across your face,

A picture perfect portrait.

The way your eyes glaze over when you look at me,

My very own soft eyed fawn – illuminated by moonlight – forever gentle.

How your nose flares when you laugh,

Blooming with each inhale.

The way you somehow look shy,

Quiet and hopeful – just begging for a kiss.

The way my heart skips a beat every time my fingers trace your body,

I write poems on your back – my own beautiful calligraphy.

I just wish I could hand you my eyes,

Just long enough so you could believe.

If I could I’d carve my vision into your mirror.
