I want you.

Until wanting turns into touch,

And touch forgets its own beginning.

I want you like fruit split open at the mouth,

Sweet running down my wrists,

No clean way to hold it.

I want you like the way your pupils darken

when you already know what you’re doing to me.

I want you like the moon wants a bare horizon,

low, glowing,

Watching everything come undone.

I want you with the moon watching and your eyes doing worse,

Holding me there until my body answers for me.

I don’t just want,

I need.

I need you like my body needs permission

to stop pretending it’s calm.

I need you like my mouth needs your neck,

That soft place where your breath gives in first.

I need you close enough to feel you react,

Close enough that my name changes shape against your skin.

I need to kiss you everywhere all at once,

I need to have you.

I need to taste you on my tongue.

I need you like the way your head tilts without thinking,

Offering more before I ask.

Your neck ruins my restraint.

Your ear makes me impatient.

Every breath you give me there feels earned.
