A day without you feels like a lifetime.
And a lifetime with you wouldn’t be enough.
For some people home is just the place they were born.
And I love how much spirit people have for that.
I’ve never really experienced what that feels like,
Constantly moving and changing houses.
A different street,
A different school,
Different friends.
I visited my parents recently and came to the realisation that where they live now,
I’ve never lived.
Ever.
Those houses with all their memories kept tightly in between the walls like secrets in a library.
They’re all gone, I’ll never visit again.
That room where I had my first kiss,
The room where I started to love music and used it to help me find my passion,
Gone.
So to me,
Home is not a place.
It’s a feeling.
The same feeling that is what I imagine people feel about where they were born.
It’s a sense of belonging, of pride, of determination.
A sense of comfort and familiarity.
To feel one with something.
To enjoy something so simple and so special,
So unconditionally.
I feel that.
With you.
